It is our pleasure and to recognize JJ Johnson from Michigan Premier as USA Wrestling Central Region’s Youth Development Director/Coach of the year and is nominated for the overall honor for USA Wrestling!
It’s no secret that JJ has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of wrestling in Michigan for several years. His list of contributions to our state includes his coverage on the sport in the media, high level coaching on Team Michigan, his growing developmental club in West Michigan and his overall passion for helping athletes of all ages develop. JJ is always working to promote the sport of wrestling and the athletes here in Michigan, regardless of team affiliation.
Most recently, JJ traveled overseas to coach our own Brody Compau of Michigan at the Pan Am Games in Guatemala (pictured). I think we can all agree that JJ absolutely deserves this award and we’re looking for many more years of his leadership here in Michigan.
Congrats JJ!!!
