Host Team Dual Competitions in Michigan
I've tried to contact the people at Michigan USA Wrestling but have not reached response. I would like to see the creation of a Freestyle Dual tournament, much like the folkstyle tournaments we are seeing happen in the Grand River Rumble series. I am willing to help out and even organize the event. I just want feedback and support from my local freestyle organization, MUSAW.
If anyone has any suggestions or feedback I would appreciate it.

Dan, Are you aware we are putting together teams that do travel to these events and we have dificulty of getting two full teams at all levels? Are you aware of the rest of the country's freestyle and greco schedule and their chances of coming to this event? Dan if you want to organize the events rather then be a critique of MUSAW then do it. Be part of the solution not a part of the problem. This is a volunteer organization that has many people putting many hours into something they believe in and are overextended already. Stop by at camp and see what is really going on. Stop by the present competitions and say hi. I would love to meet you in person and get this event started.

My response is that I am aware of the other ongoing freestyle and greco schedule and the chances of getting teams for an event like this are very high. I am not a critique of MUSAW. I would be glad to organize this event, and all I was asking for was some communication from my organization. I know fully that this a volunteer organization. I have been volunteering my team as well, to help grow this sport. However, I am a bad guy for trying to communicate with you my ideas? I would love to find the time to stop by a camp or something if I can find the time. I would love to help out and share my ideas. I believe in what you guys are doing and am very grateful for the work that is being put in. You act like I do not know what I am doing with this idea, however, it isn't as hard to accomplish as you think. Truly the hard part would be getting MUSAW onboard. It would need pairing and mat officials. MUSAW would not be in charge of putting together teams. Schools and clubs would put together teams. And it would not be as expensive as the trips you put together, therefore it would encourage more participation. So if you want to help out instead of belittle me, let me know. I would be willing to organize this event. I can guarantee that Michigan Elite WC would have a team involved. It would be a success if you could find 5-7 more teams.

We can support you on this. We will have the pairers and the refs. Please let us know the location and the date, at least a couple of weeks in advance so we can make sure the help is there. Is this being planned for a summer event? Who do you have coming?

No time to plan it for this summer, but I'm getting started on stuff for next spring/summer. I'll let you know the details once I get them worked out. I truly hope when and if I do pull it off, you guys will be on board and involved. I have talked a lot of good things to people about the new staff members we have, I hope I am not disappointed.
